Do you ship internationally?

Your Prescription

Can I order without my prescription?

When it comes to purchasing contact lenses, it's important to know that a prescription is required in Canada. This means that you'll need to obtain a valid prescription from an optometrist or ophthalmologist before purchasing contact lenses, whether you choose to buy them in person or online.

Contact lenses are considered medical devices, and as such, they can only be sold by licensed healthcare practitioners. So, while it may be tempting to skip the prescription and order your lenses online, it's important to follow the proper procedures to ensure that your eyes remain healthy and safe.

How to read my prescription?

An eye prescription is a written document from an eye doctor that specifies the corrective lens power needed to correct a person's vision. Here are some of the common abbreviations you might find on your prescription and what they mean:

OD: Oculus Dexter, meaning "right eye" in Latin.

OS: Oculus Sinister, meaning "left eye" in Latin.

SPH: Sphere, which indicates the degree of nearsightedness (-) or farsightedness (+) correction needed.

CYL: Cylinder, which indicates the degree of astigmatism correction needed.

AXIS: The orientation of the cylindrical correction, measured in degrees from 0 to 180.

ADD: Addition, which is the extra power needed in the lens for reading or close work in bifocal or progressive lenses.

PD: Pupillary distance, which is the distance between the centers of the pupils in millimeters. This measurement is important for ensuring proper lens alignment with the eyes.
